Ici rien ne va brings together three characters around a departure from the village where they grew up. There’s no grand send-off, just a low-budget musical farewell. That sets the tone. There’s the person leaving, the friend who stays behind, and the person who loves the one leaving. Through song, feelings, fantasies, doubts, desire and regrets parade across the stage – what’s left behind and what one hopes to find upon returning. But this musical, far from the trio’s expectations, wavers between awkwardness and oddity, revealing behind its flaws the vulnerability of its three performers.
