Jasmin Sisti
Jasmin Sisti is a choreographer and performer from Florence. After obtaining a Bachelor’s in Modern Dance at ZHdK, she pursued a Bachelor’s in Contemporary Dance at La Manufacture. Simultaneously, she developed her practice within companies such as Skopje Dance Theatre and Joshua Monten Dance Company. In 2023, she performed in Baby Volcano familia Espandida, which toured at Bad Bonn Kilbi and the Paleo Festival. She is also a member of the collective Octopussies, founded alongside other dancers from La Manufacture during their studies. Since 2022, she has collaborated with Studio Dots, a nomadic curatorial project focusing on territory relations through decolonial perspectives.
Her research focuses on the concept of biomimicry, blending theoretical explorations with an embodied practice, seeking to borrow specific natural logics and apply them to artistic and political issues. After an initial phase exploring mycelium and co-dependence, she became interested in algae and bioplastics, weaving in research on eroticism and the inter-relationality between human and non-human.
