Hugo Langlade
Hugo Langlade is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans music, 3D design, and sculpture. After completing a Bachelor's degree in commerce in Cergy, a six-month exchange in Japan inspired him to shift toward an artistic career, which he initially pursued as a self-taught artist before entering the Master’s program in Media Design at HEAD. His practice explores technology-assisted and automated creation methods, blending traditional craftsmanship with narratives about technological progress and its social and ecological impact. His diploma project, Inner Self, examines the fluidity of the social mask between the tangible and virtual worlds, drawing inspiration from the myth of Narcissus. A member of the Sainte Claude collective, Hugo is involved in the alternative electronic scene, organizing the Gofildren festival and developing a musical project under the name Complexe Sportif. Additionally, he collaborated with visual artist Sophie Conus on constructing a foundry from recycled materials during residencies in Switzerland and Italy. He also works with choreographer Anna-Marija Adomaityte on managing her dance company.During his residency, Hugo aims to bring together his diverse practices into a unified project and continue his sound exploration around finger drumming.
